Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - May, 2018

Bearded irises

I'm sure I've been working outside every day this month, hauling topsoil and wood chips, planting, weeding, watering. But even the harder physical labor feels like a respite from the stress of the job that pays the bills. Spring is such a lovely time to be outdoors, something new is blooming everywhere I turn!

Thanks to Carol at May Dreams Gardens for hosting the monthly roundup of blooms.

In bloom this week: April 30, 2018

Lilacs!

Spring is here, the lilacs are finally blooming! I expect they'll fade quickly though after warm weather last week, then rain, and now more sunshine coming. Ah well, I think there are enough other flowers to console me.

In bloom this week: May 23, 2017

The weather seems to have gone from early spring to mid-summer in just a few days. Three days in a row over 80 degrees, a little cool down expected tomorrow and then back over 80. I still have seedlings to plant, did some tonight, hoping to get the rest in tomorrow. My garden loves the weather, something new is blooming every time I go outside.
