Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - February 2019

All of us who talked about what a mild winter we were having in January are surely to blame for the weather now. We already broke the all time record for snowfall for February in Seattle, and likely will end up with the coldest February on record. The snow is melting though, plants emerging a little bedraggled, a broken branch or two, but everything in my yard will recover. Spring is coming, just a little slower than I thought a month ago!

Thanks to Carol at May Dreams Gardens for hosting this monthly meme so we can take vicarious pleasure in pictures from warmer climates, or perhaps have slight satisfaction in seeing that there's always someplace with worse weather.

Indoors, one African violet is blooming, plus my newest plant baby, an anthurium:

Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - May 2017

Irises

The heavy rain started before I could shut down at work yesterday, so no bloom pictures from May 15th. We'll have to settle for the 16th. Thanks to Carol at May Dreams Gardens for hosting the mid-month roundup of what's in bloom around the world.

Most roses aren't blooming yet, but plenty of other plants in my rose garden are covering for them:

Allium

Bearded irises

Chives

Aquilegia

Around the rest of the yard, the aquilegia seem to be a theme:

In bloom this week: April 23, 2017

Here comes another round of rain this week. I've been doing a some work in the yard in between the rain, but it would be nice to have a few sunny days in a row. Even the flowers seem to be saying enough, already. But I can see blooms from inside through the rain.
